The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires school districts to notify parents regarding their status in meeting student performance standards known as adequate yearly progress (AYP). Currently, the School District of Lee County has met 79% of the criteria. The District, together with all other Florida School Districts (66), has been identified by the state of Florida as being in “corrective action” until 100% of the criteria has been achieved. The District is committed to provide high quality instruction for all students, and we will continue to strive for 100%.
